To merge or not to merge the white box right away ?

Hi,

I finally received out of the blue my 2 years old pledge after i totally forget about it :)

I never played the 7th continent yet, and i have a very dumb question. Is there any reason to patient, play the base game from the black box first, and only later merge the white box in. Or should i proceed right away ?

No reason other than curiosity, merge them now, the first recommended curse is in the white box anyway.
